I didn’t want to be a photographer.
It all started when I was young with my father, who was an absolutist. Film costs money, you get it right in camera or don’t make the image.
I’ve carried this thought in my head every single time I’ve gone out to shoot since. It doesn’t apply anymore in digital but I treat each moment as it does. I want to make sure my work is as good as I can get it before I take it to post process. The least interesting part of current photography is the post processing. It’s how I work into a nap.
I’m not interested in the “get it right in post philosophy”, it becomes the work of the computer quite quickly and not an authentic image.
I want to help people be better than this. I want it right in camera and contest worthy with little need for extensive post processing.
